Obituary of Marian Beckett McGee

Marian D. Beckett McGee, 68, of Port Murray, New Jersey passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Morristown Memorial Hospital, Morristown, NJ. Marian was born on May 22, 1944 in Bronx, NY. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Godfrey and Marian ( nee Sherman ) Beckett. Marian was a member of the Hillcrest Seventh Day Adventist Church, Port Murray, NJ. She was the pianist and choir director for the church. She was a minister of music for several churches throughout her life. During her career, she was a teacher at Mansfield Elementary School, Mansfield Township, NJ, Larchwood Elementary School, Philadelphia, PA, and was the past director of education for Computer Learning Center, Paramus, NJ. She was the president of MTI Business School, Paramus, NJ, and president of Rily Business School, Greenville, MS She is survived by her loving husband, Carl McGee of Port Murray, NJ. She is also survived by A daughter, Lisa McGee of Gaithersburg, MD, a brother, Godfrey Beckett, Jr. of Portland, OR, and a grandson, Terrence of Fort Bragg, NC. A visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 29, 2013 at the Hillcrest Seventh Day Adventist Church, 590 Route 57 East, Port Murray, NJ 07865. A service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church. An interment will be at Port Murray Cemetery, Port Murray, NJ. The DeVoe Funeral Service, Inc. has been entrusted with her arrangements.
