Obituary of Thomas Kappler

Thomas Michael Kappler 63 of Oxford NJ died December 20th in Lyons VA Hospital. He was born in Phillipsburg NJ, December 4th 1950. He was the son of the late Francis V Kappler and Anne Mooney Kappler of Oxford NJ Thomas was a Carpenter with the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners local 254. He graduated Warren Hills Regional high School in 1968, the first graduating call of the then new high school. He joined the US Army and was combat vet in the Vietnam War. He was a member the Vietnam Veterans of America, and the Disabled Vietnam Veterans. Thomas was also a member of St Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Oxford NJ. In addition to his mother Ann Kappler, he is survived by 5 brothers, Vincent and his wife Susan of Newton NJ, Joseph and his wife Felice of Belvidere NJ, James and his wife Jeanne of Brick NJ, Daniel and his wife Laurel of Oxford NJ, Robert of Oxford NJ and Kevin and his wife Patricia of Belvidere NJ, a sister Mary Kappler of Phillipsburg, and several nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday December 27 at 11AM in the St Rose of Lima Catholic Church 85 Academy Street Oxford NJ. The Visitation will be Thursday December 26th from 6-8PM and Friday 9:30-10:30AM in the DeVoe Funeral Service 136 West Washington Ave Washington NJ 07882.
