Obituary of Rebecca Provencal

Rebecca Lynn (Miller) Provencal, 43, formerly of Washington NJ, residing in Kailua Hawaii, passed away peacefully in her home on April 24, 2014. Rebecca was born in Phillipsburg, NJ on June 9, 1970 to William and Barbara (Kotch) Miller. She grew up in Washington, NJ and graduated from Warren Hills Regional High School in 1988. She attended Muhlenburg College in Allentown and achieved a BS in Biology. Rebecca played field hockey and competed in Track and Field for a both Warren Hills and Muhlenburg. She attended Lehigh University and achieved an MS in Management Technology. Her love of music was reflected in her proficiency in both the flute and piano which she played throughout her lifetime. She also trained at the Isshinryu Karate Academy in Washington, NJ. Rebecca married Leo Patrick Provencal on July 15, 2000. Rebecca worked at Roche Diagnostic Systems in Branchburg, NJ from 1993-2003 as a scientist. She resided with her family in NJ, CT, VA, and HI. She took the most pleasure in raising her two daughters and was actively involved in fundraising and grant writing for their school (Enchanted Lake Elementary School, HI). Rebecca is survived by her loving husband, Leo, and her two daughters Alexis and Elena. Her mother, Barbara Miller, resides in Northampton, PA. She is also survived by her brothers, William Miller and his wife Carole of Groton, MA, Joseph Miller and his wife Julie of Cornelius, NC, Douglas Miller and his wife Anita of San Jose, CA, and Jeffrey Miller and his wife Jennifer of Phillipsburg, NJ and numerous nieces and nephews with whom she enjoyed spending time at the Carolina shore each year. She is survived by her In-Laws Roger and JoAnne Provencal of Washington, NJ. She will be greatly missed by all. She was predeceased by a daughter, Sabrina Provencal and her father, William Miller. Visitation will be Sunday May 4, 2014 from 7-9 pm at the DeVoe Funeral Home, 136 W. Washington Ave. Washington, NJ 07882. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday May 5, 2014 at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 830 5th Ave Alpha, NJ 08865 at 10AM followed by interment in the parish cemetery.
