Obituary of Dorothy Phillips

Dorothy S. "Totsy" Phillips, 83, of Belvidere, New Jersey passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Gracedale Nursing Home, Nazareth, PA. Dorothy was born on February 5, 1929 in Staten Island, NY. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John and Adeline (nee Meyerdirk) Swensen. Dorothy was a graduate of Curtis High School, Staten Island, NY. She also was a graduate of Upsala College, East Orange, NJ. She was the owner/operator of Five Acres, Belvidere, NJ. She was a member of the White Township Business Association, White Township Athletic Association, Warren County Library Association, a volunteer for White Township Election Board, and the secretary of the White Township School Board. She enjoyed traveling and was very active in her community. She is predeceased by her husband, William Phillips in 1996. She is survived by two sons, Todd Phillips and wife Nancy of Bangor, PA, Keith Phillips and wife Valerie of Clinton, NJ, two daughters, Lee Horne of Stone Church, PA, and Karen Woodbridge and husband Larry of East Stroudsburg, PA, six grandchildren, Kyle and Drew Horne, Jonathon, Allison, and Sara Phillips, and Wade Slack. She is predeceased by a grandson, Ryan Phillips and a brother, John Swensen. In keeping with Totsy's wishes, there will be no formal service. Friends and family are invited to join the family for a get together at the Belvidere Manor, 689 Water St, Belvidere, New Jersey 07823 on Saturday, January 19,2013 from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, send donations to our local fire and emergency departments in her memory.
