Obituary of Thomas Joseph Yerkes

Thomas Joseph Yerkes 74 of Las Vegas NV formerly of Washington NJ passed away at his home on Friday December 23, 2016. He was born in White Twp NJ on January 28, 1942, a son to the late Walter S, and Ruth D Riddle Yerkes.  A truck driver for many years and had also been employed as the Supervisor of Shipping and delivery of ISE Farm in Broadway NJ. He enjoyed going to the casino and playing slot machines, going to the movies, and spending time with all of his grandchildren. Thomas enjoyed watching his weekly television shows that included NCIS, Blue Bloods, and Shameless. He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles Football fan.  His beloved wife Judy Harris Yerkes preceded him in death. Surviving Tom is a son Thomas of Nescopeck PA; daughters Diane Kreidier of Easton PA, Cheryl Allen and husband Rick of Washington NJ, Tammy Cowan and husband Rick of Wapwallopen PA, Jennifer Spencer and husband Kent of Hanover PA, Pamela Kleh of Washington NJ, and Debbie Middaugh and husband Jay of Washington NJ; sisters Judy of Oxford NJ and Joan of Mt Bethel PA, Grandchildren Richard Allen, Michelle Allen, Thomas Yerkes, Ally Yerkes, Sabrina Cowan, Jamie Kreidler, Jack Spencer, Shannon Spencer, Tyler Kleh, Trevor Kleh, Joshua Middaugh and Alex Middaugh; great grandson Barrett Cowan; many nieces and nephews and wonderful friends in Las Vegas Franz, Elvia and Peter. Also preceding him in death a brother Walter Jr, and sisters Dorothy and Betty James. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday December 28th from 5-8PM at DeVoe Funeral Service, 136 West Washington Ave, Washington NJ 07882 Burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations are requested to the American Diabetes Association 2451 Crystal Drive, Suite 900 Arlington VA 22202
