Obituary of Carolyn McKinnis

Carolyn McKinnis, 80, of Port Murray, NJ died on June 18, 2015 in St. Luke's Hospital in Phillipsburg, NJ. Carolyn was born on July 7, 1934 in Wilmington, NC to Early and Lucinda (Bouie) Williamson. Carolyn was an active member of 7th Day Adventist Church in Port Murray, NJ where she was a head deaconess, in the church choir, a primary Sabbath school teacher, and in the prayer group. She was also on the food committee and prison ministries which shows her dedication to community service. Carolyn is survived by her sons Tyrone and Syhei McKinnis of Port Murray, NJ and daughters Paula McKinnis of Port Murray, NJ and Gia McKinnis of Baltimore, MD. She is also survived by a brother Russell of Irvington, NJ and sisters Pearl of Trenton, NJ and Maria of Detroit, MI. She was also a loving foster parent to a host of foster children. Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband Earl McKinnis, Brothers Carl, Harely, and Johnnie, and sisters Gene and Tootie, and a grandson Denero. DeVoe Funeral Service has been entrusted with the arrangements. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday June 27, 2015 at 4pm at the Hillcrest 7th Day Adventist Church, 590 Route 57 East, Port Murray, NJ, 07865.
