Obituary of Rose Schneider

Rose Schneider, 100, of Washington, New Jersey passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at the Care Center of Lopatcong. Rose was born on October 18, 1912 in Zhytomir, Ukraine. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hyman and Ester ( nee Galtman) Galinsky. Rose was a graduate of Theodore Roosevelt High School, New York City, NY. She also graduated Hunter College, New York City, NY with a teaching degree. Rose was a charter member and taught Sunday School at the Jewish Center of Northwest Jersey, Washington, NJ. She is predeceased by her loving husband, Irving Schneider in 1985. She is survived by a son, Benjamin Schneider of Washington, NJ, a daughter, Lucy Banner of Centerville, MA, three grandchildren, Susan Furniss, Jerry Banner, and Philip Banner, and five great-grandchildren, Ella Furniss, Corinne Furniss, Jamison Furniss, Naiomi Banner, and Phobe Banner. She is predeceased by a brother, Marcus Gaylin. A service will be held 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 18, 2012 at the DeVoe Funeral Service, Inc., 136 West Washington Ave., Washington, NJ 07882.
