Obituary of Richard Dittmar

Richard R. "Dick" Dittmar Sr. passed away peacefully on February 28 2014 at his home in Stewartsville, NJ. He was born February 5, 1935 to the late Russell and Margaret Kertis Dittmar Richard and his wife SueAnn (Steckel) Dittmar celebrated 58 years of marriage on April 9 2013. Dick owned and ran Dick's Power Sales in Stewartsville until his retirement several years ago. Prior to opening his business, he worked at Steckel Concrete Co, Phillipsburg NJ. While living in New Village, Dick was a member of the New Village Fire Co. where he served as Chief in 1965 and 1966. He was an avid fan of NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt Sr. and frequently attended races. In addition to his loving wife he is survived by their three children Carol and Rich Garey of Alpharetta GA; Richard and Ada Dittmar Jr of Stewartsville NJ and Wendy Dittmar and Ray Hull of Harmony NJ, 4 grandchildren, Jeremy, Trevor, Justin, and Christopher and 5 grandchildren and a half sister Ethel Lanning. Services will be held at DeVoe Funeral Service 136 West Washington Ave Washington NJ on Wednesday at 11:30 AM. Family and friends may call 10:00AM until time of service.
