Obituary of Henry Steinmetz

Henry A. Steinmetz ,85, of Long Valley, NJ passed away peacefully at the House of Good Shepherd on October 30, 2013. He was born in Illington, Sarr, Germany to the late Henry and Mary (Thurnes) Steinmetz. Henry was an insurance agent for Bower, Shuman and Welsh. He attended the Churchman's Business School in Easton, PA. He was a founding member of the Long Valley Rescue Squad. He was also a founding member of Our Lady of the Mountain Roman Catholic Church and was a trustee. He was the founder of Boy Scott Troup 436. He loved fishing, the outdoors, and woodworking. He was married to the late Shirley Harden who preceded him in death in 1998. He is survived by a son Henry and his wife Cindy of Oxford, NJ. A daughter Mary Kathleen Marelli and her husband Michael of Marshalls Creek, PA. A daughter Judy Steinmetz of Milford, NJ. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Michael, Jessica, Amy, Eric, Patrick, Nicole, and Shayne. He is also survived by three great grandchildren Ambrya, Brodie, and Annalise. He was preceded in death by a great grandson Caspian. A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of the Mountain Roman Catholic Church 10 East Springtown Road Long Valley, NJ 07853 on Saturday November 2, 2013 at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Long Valley First Aid Squad P.O. Box 111 Long Valley, NJ 07853. Cremation will be held at H.G. Smith Crematory Stoudsburg, PA.
