Obituary of Arthur McElroy

Arthur James McElroy, 82, of Allentown, PA passed away peacefully on Friday, December 21, 2012 at his home surrounded by loved ones. Art was born on August 23, 1930 in Washington, NJ to the late Hazel (Leffever) McElroy and Charles M. McElroy. He was the devoted husband of Marcia A. (McCoobery) McElroy and loving father of Allison and Aimee. He graduated in 1948 from Hampton High School in Hampton, NJ. Art worked for United Telephone Systems in Clinton, NJ for 32 years after which he worked at M&M Mars in Hackettstown, NJ. He retired and was the owner of the Anchor Inn in Allentown, PA for 14 years. Art was a member of the Calvary Moravian Church in Allentown, PA. He is predeceased by his loving wife, Marcia A. McElroy. He is survived by his children Allison L. McElroy and Aimee L. McElroy, and daughter-in-law Kristina M. Westura; three grandchildren Trevor McElroy, Lindsay Meyer and Charles Meyer; sisters Elizabeth Wieghorst and Pearl Eagen; and predeceased by siblings Charles, Rose and Beatrice. A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 23, 2012 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the DeVoe Funeral Service, Inc., 136 West Washington Ave., Washington, NJ 07882.
