Obituary of Michael Codis

Michael Codis, age 87, of Oxford, NJ died Monday, October 19, 2009 at Warren Hospital. Phillipsburg, NJ. Michael was born August 3, 1922 in Shenandoah, PA a son of the late John and the late Anna (Klaplowska) Codis. He was the husband of Sylvia Carol (Strunk) Codis. Michael proudly served in the Army during World War II from 1942 to 1945. He was past of the "D" Day invasion. Where he was seriously injured and received the Purple Heart. He was employed by Oxford Textile as a Laborer. He held memberships with the VFW Post, Warren County Commendations and the Oxford Fire Company Social Club. Mike loved fishing. Michael is survived by his loving wife, Carol, six daughters, Mary Ann McKenzie and her husband Delbert of Marrietta, GA, Rose Marie Prasse and her husband Ronald of Telford, TN, Pamela Jean Roberts and her husband Brian of Washington, NJ, Sally Jo Wisner of Port Orange, FL, Janet Leigh Collins and her companion Debbie Williams of Great Meadows, NJ, Lisa Ann Codis of Belvidere, NJ; one son, Michael John Codis and his wife Karen of Phillipsburg, NJ; 20 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. A sister, Mary K Fanders preceded and a grandchild preceded him in death. Funeral services will be Thursday October 22, 2009 at 6:30 PM in the DeVoe Funeral Service 136 West Washington Ave Washington NJ. Visitation will be from 4PM until time of services on Thursday.
