Obituary of Gary Adams

Gary M. Adams, 48 of Warren Haven, Oxford, NJ, died peacefully on Thursday, June 9, 2011 at Warren Hospital, Phillipsburg, NJ, surrounded by his loving family. Gary was born on May 15, 1963 in Phillipsburg, NJ, the beloved son of Rosemary (Mexson) Adams and the late Richard A. Adams Sr. of Washington, NJ. Gary was a transplant recipient. He received a kidney from his brother Doug in 2002, which gave him several vibrant years of life until he suffered a massive brain hemorrhage in 2007. He was self employed until the transplant. Until 2007, he lived in Allentown, PA, for twenty years where he served the community as past President and a member of the Board of F.A.C.T. (Fighting Aids Continuously Together) for which he was a tireless fundraiser. He is survived by his mother Rosemary Adams; brother Douglas and partner Chuck Christopher of Palmer Township, PA; cousin LCPL Adam W. Adams USMC of Lebanon Township, NJ, who was like a brother to him; uncles Clifford and wife Elizabeth, Larry and wife Pat, and Ronnie and wife Terry, many cousins including Helene to whom he was especially close. He is also survived by a partner of 20 years; Jeff Frey of Allentown, PA, and his beloved dachshund Stanley. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his half brother Richard A. Adams Jr. and wife Tina and niece Jennifer Lee, his paternal and maternal grandparents, uncles: Sonny Adams and Harvey Adams and an aunt; Jacqueline Mexson Catob.
