Obituary of John McKenna

John Michael McKenna, 58, of Port Murray, New Jersey passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family. John was born on November 21, 1954 in Montclair, NJ. He was the son of Dorothy ( nee Hill) McKenna and the late Mr. John J. McKenna. John was a mechanical engineer for Ingersoll Rand, Phillipsburg, NJ for 18 years. He worked 14 years for Coffin Turbo Pump, Englewood, NJ as an engineering manager. The last four years he worked for Coffin Turbo Pump as a consultant. He enjoyed skiing, mountain biking, hiking, and camping. He was of the christian faith. In addition to his mother, Dorothy Hill McKenna of Standford, CT, he is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Caffrey McKenna. He is also survived by two sons, Christopher and Brian McKenna, brother, Joseph McKenna of Stanford, CT, four sisters, Kathryn McKenna of Mine Hill, NJ, MaryAnn McKenna Szombathy of Pflugerville,TX, Elizabeth McKenna of Stanford, CT, and Patricia Gilbert of Soldiers Grove, WI, four nephews, and seven nieces. A memorial service will be held on 11:30AM Tuesday April 23rd at the DeVoe Service, Inc., 136 West Washington Ave., Washington, NJ 07882. Calling hours will be from 10:30AM until time of Services.
