Obituary of Arthur Dean
Arthur B Dean, Jr. Born March 16, 1919 in Washington, NJ died Wednesday, August 31, 2005 at Warren Haven Nursing Home, Mansfield, NJ. A Cutter, employed by I B Sportswear, Allentown, PA, Arthur was 86. Arthur was the son of the late Arthur B. and the late Ruth (Castner) Dean, Sr.. Mr. Dean married Helen S. Landis and they were married for 67 Years. Mr. Dean had also worked for The Washington Manufacturing Company on Railroad Avenue for seven years before going into the US Army. He will be missed by all his loving family and friends.
Military: served during World War II in the Army from 1944 to 1945. He served in the Battles and Campaigns of Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe, receiving the European-African-Middle Eastern Ribbon; Good Conduct Medal ; Purple Heart and the victory Medal. He Wears the Combat Infantryman's Badge and the European Theartre of Operations with Three Bronze Service Stars. Memberships: Arthur was a member of the Washington Alliance church of Washington, NJ Survivors: Wife Helen S. Dean Oxford, NJ; Daughter Judith A. Hariton Harmony Twp, NJ; Daughter Bette Dean Washington, NJ; Daughter Sandy Chambellan Washington, NJ; Brother Warren Dean Oxford, NJ; Three Grandchildren; Five Great-grandchildren; He is preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Hoffman, formerly of Phillipsburg.
