Obituary of Joseph Vamvas

Joseph A. Vamvas 56, of Harmony Twp. NJ died Wednesday May 25 2011 of injuries sustained as a result of an motor vehicle/motorcycle accident. He was born in Newark NJ April 23, 1955. He was the son of the late Mildred Jenny Giarratana. A Mechanic most of his life, Joe had worked for Comet Delivery Service and Summit Truck Body. He recently worked for Dependable Courier in Lebanon NJ He was an avid motorcyclist having rode cross country on different occiasions. He love antiques, and VW vehicles, and going to casinos. He was a great handyman, could fix anything and loved gardening and landscaping.. He is survived by his wife the former Patricia McMahon. He and Pat celebrated 33 years of marriage this past October. A brother Bryan Vamvas of Stewartsville NJ, sisters, Lynn Kenny and her husband Peter of Ewing NJ, Diane Arend and her husband Frederick of South Plainfield NJ, nieces Kimberly and her husband Michael, Caitlin and Shannon and great niece Jesarose. A daughter Jennifer preceded him in death in 2001. Visitation will be Saturday from 5-7 PM followed by a funeral Service at 7PM in the DeVoe Funeral Service 136 West Washington Ave Washington NJ 07882. Cremation will be private.
