Obituary of John Parr

John Douglas Parr, 47 of Washington, NJ died Friday January 7, 2011 in Overlook Hospital, Summit, NJ. He was born in Phillipsburg, NJ, October 13, 1963. He was the son of the late Carl D. Parr and Doris M. Hoffman Parr of Port Colden, NJ. He was a graduate of Warren Hills Regional High School. John was an Engineering Inspector and had 27 years of dedicated service with the New Jersey Department of Transportation. He was the owner of J.P. Light Trucking and Lawn Care Inc. In addition to his mother Doris Parr, he is survived by his Fiancé Priscilla Merta of Alpha, NJ, three brothers Larry of Washington, NJ, Gary and his wife Chick of Oxford, NJ, Roger and his wife Richshel of Port Colden, NJ, a sister Elaine Mann and her husband Vernon Jr. of Forks Twp, PA, two nieces Katie and Maci Parr and a nephew Kevin Denker and many cousins, aunts and uncles. Visitation will be on Thursday January 13th from 4 – 7 PM at the Washington Assembly of God Church, 33 Brass Castle Road Washington, NJ 07882. Funeral Services will be Friday January 14th at 11AM at the Washington Assembly of God Church. Burial to follow in the Musconetcong Valley Cemetery River Road Hampton, NJ.
