Obituary of Joan Verle Johnston

Joan Verle Johnston 78 of Lopatcong Twp. NJ, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2017 in the Care Center of Lopatcong. She was born in Hackettstown NJ November 30, 1938. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Eleanor Swenson Seeley. Joan had worked for the W.T. Grant Department store in Washington NJ for many years. She was a 1959 graduate of North Hunterdon Regional High School. Joan was a member of the Montana Methodist Church. She was a member of Gods Willing Helpers and volunteered at the Churches Hunters Lunch and Thanksgiving dinners. She enjoyed reading and was the Typist for North Hunterdon’s Yearbook called “Regis”. She had been married to her late husband Frank Sr for 48 years until his death in 2009. Surviving are her son Frank Jr and his wife Jayne of Phillipsburg NJ, brothers; Charles Seeley of Port Colden, Clifford of Jacksonville Fla, and Dale of Palmer Twp NJ, a sister Mary Jane Petty of Alabama and two grandsons, Ryan and Connor. A granddaughter Kymberly preceded her in death. A Time to meet with family will be Sunday March 26,2017 from 6-8 PM followed by a Memorial Service at 8PM in the DeVoe Funeral Service 136 West Washington Ave Washington NJ. The DeVoe Funeral Service has been entrusted with her arrangements.
