Obituary of Charles Smith

Charles S. Smith, Sr., 85, of Port Murray, NJ passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. Charles was born on August 19, 1927 in Pen Argyl pa,He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Luther and Lillian ( nee Morris) Smith. Charles served in United States Army during World War II. He was married to Monica McNicholas in 1961. Charles enjoyed hunting, fishing, trains, bulding bird houses, and tinkering with anything he could get his hands on. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Monica Smith of Port Murray, NJ. He is also survived by seven children, four sons, Tom Smith and Helen of DE, Randall Howell and Beth of NJ, Charles Smith and Vicki of NJ, and David Smith and Tracey of NJ, three daughters, Susan Ostrander of TX, Theresa Howell of PA, and Lisa Pierson and Rob of NJ, a sister, Dorothy Dalrymple of PA, twelve grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. on December 8, 2012 at McRea Memorial United Methodist Church, Main Street, Port Murray, NJ 07865.
