Obituary of Richard Walker

Richard Glen Walker, 72, of Washington, NJ, went to be with his Lord, Sunday, June 28, 2009 at home with his loving family by his side. He was born October 8, 1936 in Hamlin, PA, a son of the late Glenn D. and the late Romaine (Brink) Walker. He was a farmer, employed by Teviet Farms, Peapack, NJ for 20 years. He moved from Peapack, NJ to Washington, NJ thirteen years ago. He proudly served in the National Guard. Richard is survived by six daughters, Patricia Walker of Washington, NJ, Beverly Schoonmaker of Riverdale, MD, Rose Higgins of Harveys Lake, Judith Ackerman of Venus, PA, Susan Hill of Bridgewater, NJ, and Glenda Walker Zulla of Washington, NJ; a brother Rev. Garfield of Kansas City, MO; thirteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Richard is predeceased by a brother, Al. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday from 10:30 – 11:30 am at DeVoe Funeral Services, Inc. 136 W. Washington Ave., Washington, NJ 07882. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11:30 at the funeral home. Internment will immediately follow in Port Murray Cemetery.
