Obituary of Angelina Tomas

Angelina Francine Tomas, 8, of High Bridge, NJ went to be with Our Lord on July 7, 2015. She passed at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Twp, NJ. She was born in Allentown, PA on February 2, 2007. She was the daughter of Jessica McNally Southwell of High Bridge, NJ and father JanPaul Tomas of Bridgewater, MA. Angelina was a student at High Bridge Elementary in High Bridge, NJ in a special needs integrated program. At 10 months of age Angelina survived an accident but suffered a traumatic brain injury. Her parents were told that she would never walk or talk. Angelina had strong will and determination and defied the doctors by learning to walk. She loved listening to music. She loved her big brother Gabriel the most in life. Surviving, in addition to her parents, is a brother Gabriel Southwell and her baby sister Markella Hanuszak. She is also survived by maternal grandmother, Dorothy Katten and her step-grandfather Bruce Sankowich of Oxford, NJ; maternal grandfather Jeffrey and step-grandmother Charlene McNally of Raritan, NJ; paternal grandparents John and Stella Tomas of Karpathos, Greece; a paternal great grandmother Francis Nicholas of Karpathos, Greece, and many Great Aunts and Great Uncles. She was also blessed with numerous caring teachers, doctors, nurses, and therapists. A time of visitation will be held Monday July 13, 2015 from 5-7pm followed by a short Prayer Service at 7PM at the DeVoe Funeral Service 136 West Washington Ave, Washington NJ 07882.
