Obituary of Evelyn Rush

Evelyn E. Rush, 83 formely of Washington, NJ entered into the loving prescence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 24, 2011 at Easton Hospital. Evelyn was born March 5, 1927 in Port Colden, NJ. She is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur amd Mary ( nee Froame) Silverthorn. She was a member of Abundant Life Community Church in Port Murray, NJ. Before retiring, Evelyn worked as a hostess and waitress for many years at Hills Diner in Washington, NJ and a seamstress at the Pohatcong Hosiery Mill. Evelyn was an avid bowler at Oakwood Lanes, Washington,NJ. She was also a member of Warren Haven Auxillary Club, Oxford Young at Heart club, Broadway Senior club, and a member of the Port Murrary Golden Agers. She is predeceased by her loving husband, Carl Rush, formely of Oxford,NJ. She is survived by a sister; Shirley Castner of Washington, NJ, a brother; Robert Silerthorn and wife June of Nazareth, PA, 3 stepsons; Bradford and wife Carol, Charlton Rush both of Oxford, NJ, and Clayton and wife Elanor of Harmony, NJ. Many loving nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces, and 4 great-great nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a sister; Carol Tuttle, a brother; Ronald Silverthorn. A visitation will be Thursday, January 27, 2011 at 7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. at DeVoe Funeral Service, Inc., 136 West Washington Avenue, Washington, NJ 07882. A service will be on Friday, January 28, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. at the Abundant Life Community Church, 21 Cherry Tree Bend Road, Port Murray, NJ 07865-4111. Interment will follow service at Port Murray Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Abundant Life Community Church, 21 Cherry Tree Bend Road Port Murray, NJ or Washington Assembly of God Church, 33 Brass Castle Road Washington, NJ 07882.
