Obituary of Eugene Wood

Eugene “ Spearhead” Axford Wood III, 56 of Bethlehem, PA passed away suddenly on September 26, 2011 in his home from a massive heart attack. Eugene was born on November 16, 1954 in Phillipsburg, NJ. He is the son of the late Eugene Wood Jr. and Joyce Vernon Wood of Washington N.J. Eugene worked for the past five years as Superintendant of Lehigh Plaza Apartments in Bethlehem, PA. He was the Vice President of the Vietnam Veteran’s motorcycle Club Chapter L, he was an avid motorcyclist who took part in many memorial rides with and for his Military brothers. He was a member of the American Legion Post 0945 and the American Legion in Belvidere, NJ. He is survived by his daughter; Jamie Lynn Wood of Oxford, NJ, two brothers; William “Billy” Wood of Palmer, PA, Rick Vernon of Great Meadows, NJ, three sisters; Melody Vernon of Belvidere, NJ, Dorothy Wyckoff of Washington, NJ, and Jeanie Smith of Winston, GA. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday October 4, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940.
