Obituary of Doris Swisher

Doris Ray Swisher 71 of Phillipsburg NJ passed away peacefully on Thursday December 22, 2016 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Twp. NJ Born in Lebanon Twp. NJ April 22, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Judson and Adelia Ellick Lanning Jr. Doris had deep faith and was very active in the Phillipsburg Alliance Church. She had a beautiful voice and sang in the church choir. Doris also sang for weddings and funerals. She was a member of the American Legion. Doris had a love for crafts, crossword puzzles and singing, but most of all she loved spending time with her family. Doris enjoyed being with her children and grandchildren. Surviving Doris is her husband Albert, a son Albert and his wife Sue; daughters Michele (Shelly) Lair of Bethlehem PA, and Sandy Pandelios of Bethlehem; brother, James Lanning Sr of Tuscon AZ,, sisters Betty Werner of Broadway, and Sue Lanning of Lebanon Twp. NJ, Grandchildren Emily, albert, hanna, dalia, dimitri, jamie, daniel and sage. Great grandchildren are Scott and chloe Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday December 28th at 11AM in the Phillipsburg Alliance Church Lincoln Ave Phillipsburg NJ. Family and friends may call 10-11AM in the Church. The DeVoe Funeral Service 136 West Washington Ave Washington NJ has been entrusted with her arrangements. Donations have been requested to the funeral home in Doris’s name. Doris has requested that those who attend wear bright clothes and not black as this will be a celebration of her life.
