Obituary of Gerald Smith

Gerald P. Smith 75 of Washington NJ, died at his home on May 13th, 2010. A life long resident of Washington, he was born December 30. 1934, the son to the late Roy A. Smith and late Thelma Hoover Hockenbury. Gerald was a Regional Food Service Supervisor for the NJ Department of Corrections with his main office at the Edna Mann Facility in Clinton NJ. He attended Washington High School, and served in Germany in the US Army from 1957-1959. He loved reading and enjoyed working in the garden. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years the former Kathleen Marcalus, a son Robert in Washington and a daughter Tina Williams and her husband Eric in West Virginia and three grandchildren. His sister, Joanne Hummer preceded him in death. Visitation will be Sunday from 6-8 pm in the DeVoe Funeral Service 136 West Washington Ave, Washington NJ.
