Obituary of Christine Pohl

Christine (Fiore) Pohl Our loving and devoted wife and mother passed away peacefully at her Cooperstown,NY home after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Chris lived a very fulfilling 51 years. Chris was an exceptional Special Education Teacher at Oneonta Middle School in Oneonta, NY. Along with her husband, Bruce Pohl she also operated a beautiful Bed & Breakfast in Cooperstown, NY that was noted for her wonderful breakfast dishes and warm hospitality. She was most proud of her two boys, Andrew and Philip as they valiantly continued their college studies and activities throughout her ordeal. Chris grew up in Washington, NJ and graduated from Warren Hills Regional High School. She earned a B.S. in Special Education from Trenton State College (now the College of New Jersey). Chris also earned a Masters degree from the University of Phoenix in Curriculum Development while raising her boys, teaching full time, and also overseeing the B&B. Early in her career and before having children, she was a branch manager for a very successful personnel agency in San Diego,CA. Chris was the daughter of Joan (nee Rapsis of Washington,NJ and the late Ralph Fiore, Sr. of Washington, NJ. In addition to her husband Bruce, She is survived by 3 sisters: Kathleen McGaurn & husband Gary of Collingswood, NJ, Donna Risko and husband Wayne of Bethlehem, PA, and Anita Toupin & husband David of Phillipsburg, NJ. Chris also had three brothers: Ralph Fiore Jr. & wife Kathleen of Oxford, NJ, Paul Fiore & wife Judy of Alpha, NJ, and Philip Fiore & wife Kristen of Marlton, NJ. Chris also has many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews. Visitation hours are set for Tuesday afternoon 2--4 pm and again at 7—9 pm at DeVoe Funeral Service 136 West Washington Ave Washington NJ. A Funeral Mass, will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church 200 West Carlton Ave Washington NJ followed by interment St Joseph Cemetery of Washington, NJ.
