Obituary of Ava Dilts

Ava Ruth Dilts, age 84, of Belvidere died Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at Warren Hospital, Phillipsburg, NJ. Ms. Dilts was born November 17, 1925 in Hazen, NJ. She is the daughter of the late Richard and the late Ada (Bush) Deacon. In addition to her parents Ava is predeceased by her brother Harrison Deacon. She was employed by Warren Haven Nursing Home, Oxford, NJ 07863 as a Food Service Worker for many years before retiring. Ava was an avid bowler and pool player belonging to several leagues. She enjoyed crafts and going to the Comfort Zone in Phillipsburg, NJ where she participated in many activities. She was a volunteer at the Warren County ARC and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her companion of 36 years, Jorgen "Jay" Froysland of Bangor, PA. six daughters: Darlene Smolenski and her husband Chester of Oxford, NJ, Gloria Schafer of Bangor, PA, Rose Schriner and her husband Anthony of Easton, PA, RhodaLyn Nice and her husband Larry of Bangor, PA, Roxanna Campbell and her husband Jimmy of Peach Tree, GA, Dawn Alvarado and her Husband Carlos of Bangor, PA and five sons: Richard Blum And his wife Sharyn of Bangor, PA, Warren Dilts and his wife Theresa of Bangor, PA; Robert Dilts and wife Sandy of St. Cloud , MI, Jack Dilts and wife Anna Marie of Pen Argle, PA, Barry Dilts of Washington, NJ. 30 Grandchildren, 30 Great- Grandchildren, 14 Great-Great Grandchildren Calling hours will be Friday, July 16 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at DeVoe Funeral Service Inc., 136 West Washington Ave, Washington, NJ. A funeral service and burial of cremains will be held on Saturday July 17, 2010 at 11:00 am at the Hazen Cemetery, Hazen, NJ with Rev. James Scovell officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Warren County ARC, 319 W.Washington Ave. P.O. Box 389, Washington, NJ 07882 in memory of Ava.
