Obituary of Kathleen Joy Rush
Kathleen Joy Rush, age 76, passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at her home in Bethlehem, PA. Kathleen was born August 24, 1946, in Somerville, NJ, to the late William F. Kennedy and the late Evelyn B. (nee Wershuhn) Kennedy.
Kathleen was a 1965 graduate of Somerville High School. Kathleen most recently worked as a Medical Claims Representative for HSBC located in Bedminster, NJ, until retirement. She previously worked for Beneficial and Household insurance companies.
Kathleen married the love of her life, Jim Rush, on November 29, 1969. Together they raised two children; Jennifer and Michael, whom they adored. Nothing was more important to her than her family, and Kathleen loved to spend as much time with them as possible, especially her precious grandchildren who she took great pride and joy in.
Besides spending time with her family, Kathleen enjoyed socializing with her friends. She had many friends including those she made at the Washington Township and Oxford Seniors Clubs and while volunteering as the Past President of the Ladies Auxiliary of Washington Borough Fire Department. Kathleen loved spending time at the beach, especially on her trips with Jim to Surfside, SC.
Kathleen will be remembered for her continuous strength, gracious heart, giving spirit, and her love and dedication to her family.
Kathleen will be forever missed by her beloved husband, James F. Rush of Pennsylvania; daughter, Jennifer Prystash and her husband Jason of Delaware; son, Michael Rush and his wife Melissa of Pennsylvania; brother, Dennis Kennedy and his wife Diana of Florida; and her six grandchildren, Nathaniel, Emma, Serena, Marissa, Alison, and Gavin. Kathy is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Kathleen is predeceased by her parents, William and Evelyn Kennedy.

Friends and relatives may gather with Kathy’s family on Wednesday October 12th, from 10:00 AM until 1:00 pm with a service of remembrance starting at 1:00 pm, at Knoll-DeVoe Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 142 West Washington Avenue, Washington, NJ.
